CloseTesting: the live site as a long scroll on a laptop and a phone

Overview

A two-sided marketplace for Google Play closed testing. Developers create a campaign from their testing link, pay once and follow daily proof from 12 testers over 14 days. Testers on real Android devices join campaigns, check in each day through the companion app and are paid per completed test.

For Android developers with new personal Play Console accounts, who must run a closed test before production access, and for the testers who take part.

The challenge

Google Play asks new personal developer accounts to run a closed test with 12 opted-in testers for 14 continuous days before production access. Developers needed a dependable way to find those testers and to see that the test really ran.

What we built

  1. Campaigns created from a Google Play testing link, with Razorpay checkout
  2. Browse page of apps recruiting testers, with the payout per test and spots left
  3. Daily proof screenshots, a live campaign dashboard and downloadable reports
  4. Replacement of inactive testers and device checks against duplicate accounts
  5. Tester Android app: daily check-ins with streaks, developer chat and a wallet that pays out to UPI or bank
