Clarity Before Colour

Brand Strategy & Identity

We define what your business stands for, what it is called and how it looks and sounds, then turn those decisions into a system your team can use everywhere.

The 3 Decisions Behind a Strong Brand

  • 01

    Positioning and Strategy

Who you serve, what you promise and why you are different, set out in a positioning that every later decision can be checked against.

  • 02

    Naming and Messaging

Names for companies, products and features, plus a messaging framework and tone of voice your whole team can write in.

  • 03

    Visual Identity System

Logo, colour, typography, imagery and motion designed as one system that holds up from an app icon to a shopfront.

What Your Team Receives

  • Brand Guidelines
  • Launch and Campaign Creative
  • 3D Brand Assets and Illustration

How it fits together

A brand is a system, not a logo

Strategy sits at the core, identity expresses it and applications put it to work. Every tile traces back to the one in the middle.

A brand system grid: positioning at the core, surrounded by naming, messaging, identity elements and the applications they reach

  • Strategy: Positioning
  • Strategy: Naming
  • Strategy: Messaging and voice
  • Identity: Logo mark
  • Identity: Colour
  • Identity: Typography
  • Identity: Imagery and 3D
  • Applications: Website and product
  • Applications: Social and campaigns
  • Applications: Guidelines

    2. 02/06Market and Audience Research

    01Phase 1

    Settle the strategy.

Interviews and research turn into a written position: who you serve, what you stand for and how you sound.

    2. 04/06Naming and Identity Concepts

    02Phase 2

    Design the system.

Names, marks, colour, type and imagery are explored, then built into one system tested on real screens.

    1. 05/06System Design and Guidelines
    2. 06/06Rollout and Launch

    03Phase 3

    Roll it out.

Guidelines, editable source files and launch assets are handed over, and we can carry the brand into your website and app.

How we work

Decisions first, then design

  • Agreed with decision makers

Positioning is settled with the people who own the business before a single logo is drawn.

  • Built for screens first

Every identity is tested on a phone, a browser tab and an app icon, not only on a presentation slide.

  • You own every file

Editable source files and guidelines are handed over in full, and on full payment the identity is yours.

  • One team to the finish

The same team can carry the brand into your website, app and 3D assets, so nothing is lost in hand-off.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between brand strategy and a logo?

A logo is one output. Strategy decides who you are for, what you promise and how you sound; the identity, meaning logo, colour, type and imagery, then expresses those decisions consistently. We do both, in that order.

Can you name our company or product?

Yes. We develop naming routes from the positioning, shortlist candidates and run first-pass checks on domain availability and obvious conflicts before you choose. Formal trademark clearance belongs with a trademark attorney, and we prepare the shortlist for that review.

What do we receive at the end?

A positioning and messaging document, the identity system with logo files, colour, typography, imagery and 3D style, brand guidelines your team and suppliers can follow, and launch assets such as social templates, a pitch deck theme or website design direction.

Can you refresh an existing brand rather than start over?

Yes. A refresh keeps the recognition you have earned and fixes what is not working, often messaging, consistency or digital use, without forcing a full rename or redesign.

Have you delivered brand work before?

Yes. For Tylax, a construction-materials company, we designed the logo and 3D brand assets and carried them through to the full-stack storefront we built.

Do you design the website and product as well?

Yes. The same team designs interfaces and builds websites and apps, so the brand survives the hand-off into real screens. Our UI/UX design and website development practices cover that work.
